Baby, where the hell is my husband?

What is taking him so long? Is he far away? Is he okay? These are questions many of us ask ourselves once we get past our mid twenties and start thinking, for real, about wanting to find our soul mate.

Raye is about to turn 29 this year and it’s no coincidence she’s asking this question. At age 29 our Saturn return hits and we are officially adults. The fun and irresponsibility of our teens and twenties gives way to a serious search for meaning in our lives and a desire to put down roots and build a meaningful home, both within ourselves and in the world.

At 29 many of us have a kind of crisis that pushes us towards serious commitment of some kind, whether it’s buying property, settling down with a partner or starting a family. I’m no exception. I decided to try for a baby when I was 28 – almost on a whim really – and gave birth a few days after my 29th birthday.

But your Saturn return will not necessarily bring the partner of your dreams into your life. In fact, Saturn often causes us problems and delays in reaching our goals, and the fact that Raye currently has Saturn transiting her 7th house of marriage means that it’s unlikely she’ll meet “the one” at this time and more likely that she’ll instead be learning some harsh lessons about love. Some folk, with heavy Saturn influences in their chart, face a very long and steep learning curve, and the resolution of many karmic issues in their life, before their soulmate is ever likely to appear. Raye isn’t one of them though.

So, astrologically, when can we expect to meet our person? The answer is that it’s actually the movements of Jupiter that bring us the biggest blessings where love, marriage and babies are concerned. Jupiter brings luck and expansion to whatever it touches, so we need to watch for Jupiter transiting certain important points in our chart.

In August of this year, Jupiter will be conjunct Raye’s natal moon in Leo, and Saturn will have moved out of her 7th House of relationships and her Saturn return will be almost exact; meaning we have a kind of “perfect storm” for significant events in her life. Why? Because the Jupiter – Moon contact brings warmth, luck and positivity into her personal and emotional life (and can also mean heightened fertility and likelihood of pregnancy) and the Saturn returns encourages a desire to commit and settle down.

I met my husband when Jupiter was conjunct my natal moon in spring of 2023. My second husband, that is. And, within four months of getting together, I got suddenly and unexpectedly pregnant. That’s why I’ve been quiet with the blog posts. So, you know… there could be something in it ;)

So maybe Raye will find her husband in the latter half of this year. Or maybe not. Maybe the Jupiter – Moon “baby” will be creative inspiration that is birthed through her art rather than an actual baby. But you never know.
